The Halloween West JV Project is located approximately 20km west of Sandfire Resources NL’s high-grade DeGrussa VMS Copper-Gold Mine in the Murchison region of Western Australia.

Simplified interpreted Geological Location Plan for Halloween West Project

The Halloween West JV Project covers the interpreted western extension of the Narracoota Volcanic Formation which hosts the high-grade DeGrussa copper-gold deposit and is being explored under a Joint Venture agreement with Sandfire Resources.

Halloween West JV

On 16 May 2012, Talisman Mining further strengthened its exploration portfolio in the Bryah Basin mineral province of Western Australia after reaching agreement with Chrysalis Resources Limited (ASX: CYS) to farm into the Halloween West JV Copper-Gold Project. In 2014, Sandfire Resources acquired the interest held by Chrysalis Resources and the JV is now between Talisman Mining and Sandfire.

First-pass RC drilling and soil sampling conducted by Talisman at Halloween West in late 2012 identified copper-gold-zinc-manganese-bismuth anomalism associated with a magnetic package of strongly sheared volcanic sediments, cherts and intercalated ultramafic volcanic rocks, which are thought to be prospective for VMS and/or structurally controlled copper-gold mineralisation.

Exploration at the Halloween West JV has included approximately 800 soil samples taken along 100m and 200m-spaced soil sampling traverses (see figure below).

Halloween West JV Project showing completed soil-sampling programs over the Wizard and Malachite Prospects

This exploration program was designed to test for the surface expression of copper-gold mineralisation across two target areas including the western extension of the Halloween VMS target horizon and a malachite-bearing (secondary copper) sedimentary horizon in the eastern portion of the tenement. In addition, the Company completed a program of geological mapping over the target horizons to identify and better define possible geological controls on potential mineralisation.
